Neye at his internship

When it comes to college students and casinos, people might picture college students playing instead of working at one.

Tristan Neye, a senior business administration and marketing double major, completed a summer internship with Hollywood Casino and recently accepted a part-time job offer in their security department. Neye first heard about the internship from an on-campus presentation by human resources representatives.

Neye’s passion and drive for pursuing a career in entertainment came from his love of Star Wars and was inspired by the work of its creator, George Lucas.

“I am very passionate about preserving forms of art so that future generations can enjoy it,” Neye said. “Because, in my humble opinion, art inspires more art.”

Neye’s internship allowed him to work in several different departments such as casino operations, human resources, food and beverage, security, finance and compliance.

“I love that it was a rotational internship, but at the same time I don’t,” Neye said. “It’s really cool, but obviously in three months you can’t get as well informed as you’d like in all areas.”

Neye will complete the second phase of the internship after his graduation in spring of 2026. The second phase allows Neye to work in casino operations for a year as an associate.

“I chose casino ops because I want to experience as much of the entertainment industry as I can,” Neye said. “I felt that was a good place for me thanks to my love for video games.”

Neye sees himself staying with Hollywood Casino for a long time because of their workplace culture and the connection he has made with his coworkers. His ultimate career goal is to continue in the entertainment industry and work with technology and video games.
