LVC’s Bishop Library is not without its fair share of fresh faces and new events this semester.

Sydney Selby, a junior communication sciences and disorders major, has been a student employee at Bishop Library for two months.

“I enjoy working with other students and having the best faculty to work with,” Selby said. “They are so understanding and always there to help!”

Several Bishop Library events will take place throughout the rest of the semester. Library technician Michelle Graby mentioned an upcoming event called ‘speed-friending.’

This event will allow students to make new friends in a low-pressure situation and will be in conjunction with the Breen Center for Career & Professional Development. Speed-friending will occur on Thursday, Nov. 9, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Graby also reiterated that ‘BYOB: bring your own book’ events are held on the third Tuesday of each month. This month’s event will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at LVC’s 11 a.m. common hour.

Sign-up on RedBook is required for both events.
