The 2023 Flying Dutchman Ale made its debut this weekend at LVC Homecoming.

The ale is created by a group of students known as The Brew Crew, with students from chemistry, biology, biochemistry and molecular majors. The Brew Crew works every year with Snitz Creek Brewery, a local brewery in Lebanon, PA.

The ale was revealed on the night before homecoming, which allowed students 21 and older to taste and experience the presentation of the hard work they have put in over the past few months.

It is also offered for purchase during the homecoming game, where students, alumni and families can all get a chance to taste the unique flavors created by LVC’s own students.

Justin Abdo ’21 has enjoyed trying the different flavors of the Flying Dutchman Ale since he was a student and continues to look forward to experiencing it again as an alumnus.

“I really enjoy getting to see the hard work that The Brew Crew puts into the ale every year,” Abdo said. “It is always a unique flavor that makes drinking it a special experience, which is another great addition to an already huge event at The Valley.”

The Flying Dutchman Ale is available at both Snitz Creek locations for those who did not get the chance to try it or for those who wanted some more!
