The Jammin’ Jackalopes kick off its spring season

LVC’s ultimate frisbee club, the Jammin’ Jackalopes, kicked off its spring season in Wilkes-Barre this past weekend.

On Saturday, April 6, the Jammin’ Jackalopes traveled to Wilkes-Barre for a 16-team tournament. Some of the colleges that attended the tournament were Saint Joseph’s University, East Stroudsburg University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Lafayette College, Millersville University, Susquehanna University, the University of Scranton, Wilkes University and York College.

The roster for the Jammin’ Jackalopes was comprised of 15 students, 13 experienced players and two players who had never attended a tournament before.

The Jammers went 3-0 in pool play with a 4-3 win over the Dirty Birds, 8-1 win over Lafayette College and 9-0 win over York College. The team finished in fifth place after pool play and placed third overall in the tournament with a 5-4 win in the quarterfinals against the Dirty Birds and a 9-6 loss in the semi-finals against Scranton.

This tournament marks the start of the spring season for the Jammin’ Jackalopes. The Jammers are back in action Saturday, April 20, at York College for their final tournament of the spring.
