Softball plays for special cause

The Dutchmen softball team played its annual dedication games on Monday, April 17.   

The games were dedicated to the Wounded Warriors Project, an organization that provides mental health and career counseling, long-term rehab care and advocacy efforts to millions of military service men and women and their families. 

The team wore special jerseys to commemorate the cause.  There were also donation collections throughout the games for the organization. 

The Dutchmen played against Scranton University in the doubleheader.  Game one had a final score of 3-1, LVC.  The team kept the momentum going in game two, with a final score of 7-4.   

Junior pitcher Jordan Walter also recorded her 200th career strikeout in game two.     

The team improved its record to 23-5.  Catch the team’s next game on Wednesday, April 17, at home against Eastern University.
