LVC will host its annual homecoming celebration featuring many activities for the community, alumni and students.

On Friday, Oct.10, and Saturday, Oct. 11, LVC’s annual homecoming celebration will be in full swing. The junior class of student government has been working in coordination with various on campus clubs, organizations and the alumni office to ensure activities people of all ages will enjoy.

“This year’s homecoming is going to have a variety of different events,” Mya Maloney, student government executive board president and class of 2027 secretary, said. “We have many new events and returning traditions we are excited to share with the whole LVC community.”

The weekend festivities will begin with the annual reveal of the Flying Dutchman Ale. Made in collaboration with senior chemistry students, Snitz Creek Brewery will have a limited-edition beer that will be revealed on Friday, Oct. 10, at 5 p.m. in the Neidig-Garber Atrium. The beer will also be available at the hospitality tent during the homecoming football game.

After the reveal on Friday, the annual Dutchman Dance Off and Pep Rally will commence at 8 p.m. at Arnold Field. The rally will include dances from various sports teams, as well as dance showcases from each of the homecoming nominees.

On Saturday, Oct. 11, LVC will host its spirit zone. This year, in collaboration with LVC’s new club Auggie’s Project, student government will be hosting a dog adoption event as part of the annual spirit zone. LVC families looking to add a new addition to their family can do so during the spirit zone on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m.

“We’re so grateful for all of the clubs that have volunteered to help us at homecoming,” Meredith Roman, student government vice president of academic affairs and class of 2027 representative, said. “We wouldn’t be able to do it without them.”

Lastly, student government has already begun its presale for homecoming merchandise. This year there will be crewnecks, t-shirts and hats available for purchase. Students, family, staff and faculty members who want to place an order can do so via the email sent out by Jen Evans or can contact Jen Evans at jevans@lvc.edu.
