A visit that made the difference

For many high school students, a campus tour is the moment when a college finally becomes a reachable goal.

For one potential LVC student, the visit offered more than just information; in fact, it changed Rilee Eisenhour’s entire impression of the school. She said the warmth of the people on campus stood out immediately.

“Everybody I met was very welcoming and explained the college in good detail,” Eisenhour, a senior at Lebanon High School said.

That welcoming first impression put her at ease as she explored the programs LVC offers.

One reason she decided to visit the school was because of to LVC’s new nursing program, along with the convenience of staying close to home. She said the campus itself also made an impact.

“It’s very big and open, clean and overall, it seems like a good college,” Eisenhour said.

Some things surprised her, too.

“The food was actually really good,” she said.

Adding that the classrooms and living spaces were nicer than she expected. The biggest surprise, however, was the price.

“I wasn’t expecting it to be that expensive,” she admitted.

During the visit, she spoke with a student tour guide, who shared insights into the nursing program and offered advice on next steps.

Before visiting, she admitted she wasn’t expecting much from a small school in Annville. By the end of the tour, her opinion had shifted. She said the visit moved LVC higher on her list of potential colleges.
