LVC pitcher Grayson Weidenhammer is embracing a new beginning this fall for the Dutchmen baseball team after a first-year season that was defined more by setbacks than innings pitched.
Weidenhammer joined the baseball team with very high expectations but saw his first year cut short by injuries that kept him out for most of the season. Instead of being on the field, he spent most of his spring in the training room focusing on recovery.
As the fall season begins Weidenhammer is working to turn his frustration into motivation.
“Last year was really hard but I’ve been working hard so that I can make an impact this year,” Weidenhammer said.
While Weidenhammer continues to rehab, his goal is on steady progress and to prepare for the spring season.
“I’m not going to rush anything because the goal is to come back and be able to contribute to the team however I can,” he said.
For Weidenhammer, this fall represents more than a return to baseball but also a chance to create a new chapter in his collegiate career.
