After hosting dozens of notable campus events and fundraisers, the Asian Culture Club (ACC) has been founded on the goal of promoting and spreading awareness of Asian cultures–through fun and fellowship.

The club was started in 2023 by a cabinet of students who share an appreciation for culture and community. And after just two years, the results are felt through the whole organization and campus as well.

“Our vision is to prioritize the planning of our group events and fundraisers, while making club meetings more fun and engaging,” Dina Chen, ACC president, said.

While it is still early in the school year, there have already been successful gatherings during the semester thus far. This includes the club’s trip to Philadelphia for the Chinese Lantern Festival and their latest screening of the popular Asian film, ‘Kpop Demon Hunters.’

“A lot of planning took place leading up to the event, but with the possibility of rain, we had to make a quick change of plans to make an outdoor event into an indoor movie night,” Chen said. “We had over 50+ attendees take part in the movie night and were very excited to have a make-your-own ramen station and popcorn!”

The event was very popular on campus and garnered positive feedback. The club was once started between a few like-minded individuals with a common goal of spreading their own cultural awareness.

The event’s impressive turnout is already an example of the group’s vision in action. With even more events on the horizon, such as the group’s beloved Boba Festival, “Dashain-Diwali” Celebration and their Holi Celebration of Colors event.

There is much to look forward to from the Asian Culture Club, as it continues to spread awareness in a fun and inclusive way, while also bringing a sense of community for many students seeking solace through representation.
