Building a future with finance at LVC

A new club has started to make way as they are teaching students a way to explore the variety of opportunities within finance.

The members of the finance club have many future ideas and objectives they hope to accomplish within their inaugural year here at LVC.

“The finance club is truly just a space where we can all come together, learn valuable skills and curate a group for a niche area that the school doesn’t already facilitate to,” Jacob Mrose, 2025 business administration graduate, said.

Finance is officially something students at LVC can now learn about on campus. With there being no finance major, students finally have a reason to break into finance without needing to be their major.

With it being the club’s first year on campus, they have many opportunities for students and hope to accomplish many tasks this year.

“When it comes to our main mission, we just want to educate and curate an environment for people with similar objectives and interests having to do with finance,” Mrose said. “There isn’t a finance major here at LVC, so we hope to bring light to concepts that aren’t discussed as regularly on campus at the moment.”

The finance club is working hard to make sure there are interesting activities and teaching from people not just at LVC but within the field of finance at outside jobs. Giving students a chance to network within the finance field.

“We plan on having guest speakers, such as CEOs, CFOs and other individuals who are in the field of finance, to talk to us and give us insight into what a career may actually look like for someone who is interested.” Mrose said. “We may even take trips to different sites, such as Fulton Bank in Lancaster to see what an office space looks like and what a day may entail.”

The finance club meets multiple times a week going over interesting topics each meeting. The club hopes to get LVC students who are interested in finance to show up and learn more about the vast world of finance.
