The Dutchmen football team lost its home opener on Thursday night at Arnold Field in a hard-fought battle with F&M, 31-21.
Dion Bryant, the team’s Primetime Dutchmen of the week, was the star of the LVC offense. Bryant racked up 127 yards on the ground on 18 attempts and scored a touchdown. Logan Klitsch, the quarterback for the Dutchmen, rushed for one touchdown and threw one touchdown to receiver Alex Vassallo.
The hardnosed LVC defense made great plays as well on Thursday night. Carter Foust and Luke Pollock each had six tackles leading the defense. Ryan Sisko had two pass break ups and Alex Brown had two tackles for loss.
Both sides of the ball for the LVC football team showed flashes of a great season ahead.
LVC football is back in action next weekend, their first MAC matchup of the year, against FDU at Arnold Field.
