LVC’s Wig & Buckle Theater Company is gearing up for its final show of the 2024-2025 season.

“Sorority House of the Dead” includes a slew of ‘80s references, eccentric characters and plot twists. The show is written by Mitch Brian and has a runtime of approximately one hour.

The show’s director is Scarlet Laity, a sophomore early childhood and special education major.

“This cast’s ability to blow my mind has been nothing short of incredible,” Laity said. “I cannot wait for crowds to see this wonderful masterpiece they have worked so hard on!”

Laity is joined by stage manager JD Kauffman, a sophomore audio and music production and music major. Kauffman has provided their advice and expertise throughout the rehearsal process.

“I was definitely nervous going into this, but immediately after auditions all my worries went away,” Kauffman said. “Seeing Scarlet and this cast work so hard to get this show to where it is is amazing, and I’m so excited to be a part of it!”

This is Laity’s first time directing a Wig & Buckle production, and she will also direct the next Wig & Buckle musical, “Alice by Heart,” during the fall 2025 semester.

“This whole process has really taken me by surprise, I felt that energy that this was going to be a hit the moment auditions started,” Laity said. “Since then the cast has done nothing but impress me and continue to leave me wanting for more and more after every rehearsal! I cannot wait for this show to hit the stage and for you all to experience the same feeling that I do after every rehearsal!”

Tickets are currently available for purchase on the Wig & Buckle website for the shows on Friday, March 21, and Saturday, March 22, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, March 23, at 2 p.m. Tickets are free to reserve for LVC students.
