Internships are an essential part of career development for many students. They can provide hands-on experience, inform future career decisions and increase networking opportunities.
However, the costs associated with participating in an internship experience can be burdensome. The Breen Center for Career & Professional Development alleviates these costs through grants.
“The Breen Center manages three internship funds that assist students paying for reasonable expenses incurred because of their internships,” Natalia Smith, assistant director of the Breen Center, said.
Students from most majors are eligible to apply for these grants and application cycles are continuous. Students can complete an eligibility assessment to determine if they qualify to apply for a grant. If eligible, students can use the funds for any internship-related expense.
“Internships are a vital experience in the career exploration journey of LVC students,” Jasmine Bucher, senior director of the Breen Center, said. “The Breen Center team is grateful for these funds that open student opportunities and directly relieve their financial burden.”
