LVC students can now hit the slopes with one of the college’s newest clubs, Dutchmen Peak Pursuit.
Dutchmen Peak Pursuit (formerly known as LVSki) is a new ski and snowboarding club open to LVC students. This club caters to all skill levels, whether students are seasoned skiers or total beginners.
Sophomore business administration major and club president Jayven Ritchey is a snowboard instructor. Vice president and fellow sophomore business administration major Alex Hepler has skied for many years.
“We can teach people the basics of what the equipment is, and the rundown of safety procedures,” Ritchey said.
The club’s first few trips will allow beginners to focus on the basics of skiing such as turning and stopping. This will allow them to build the necessary skills to be confident on the slopes.
The first Dutchmen Peak Pursuit event is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 27.
“We’re looking to take at least 20 students up to Roundtop in Harrisburg,” Ritchey said.
Roundtop runs college nights every Thursday from 3 to 9 p.m. Lift passes and rentals are just $20.
Students who want to hit the slopes with their fellow Dutchmen should take advantage of this new opportunity.
