Resilience: Building stronger together

(By Warren J. Collins ’27, staff writer)

An annual LVC event will focus on yet another powerful topic.

Using the motto of “building stronger together,” the 2025 Symposium on Inclusive Excellence will cover the topic of resilience. The event, which will take place on Thursday, Feb. 6, will kick off virtually at 10 a.m. and will led by keynote speaker retired Lieutenant Colonel Kristal Turner-Childs.

In addition to the keynote, there will also be a selection of educational sessions scheduled for Thursday afternoon. These sessions will include a lecture series on grief and human resilience, food and its relation to resilience and a poverty simulation.

Sessions will take place from 1 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Some sessions will now be held virtually due to weather concerns. Students should check their emails for the most up-to-date information on each session’s status.

While attendance for the symposium is not mandatory for every student and staff member, LVC and the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging encourage student and staff attendance in order to build continual engagement within LVC’s diverse community.
