An annual LVC event will focus on yet another powerful topic.
Using the motto of “building stronger together,” the 2025 Symposium on Inclusive Excellence will cover the topic of resilience. The event, which will take place on Thursday, Feb. 6, will kick off at 10 a.m. in the Miller Chapel with the opening convocation, led by keynote speaker Aimee Nezhukumatathil.
Throughout the convocation, Nezhukumatathil, renowned for her writings related to her perspectives of love and loss, will share her experiences with LVC students and staff, tying them back to the theme of resilience. She will also provide time for a Q&A session with her audience.
In addition to the convocation, there will also be a selection of educational sessions scheduled for Thursday afternoon. These sessions will include a lecture series on grief and human resilience, food and its relation to resilience and a poverty simulation. These sessions will take place from 1 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
While attendance for the symposium is not mandatory for every student and staff member, LVC and the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging encourage student and staff attendance in order to build continual engagement within LVC’s diverse community.
