A new Zumba club at LVC provides students with an exciting way to stay active, de-stress and connect with others.
Zumba club has quickly become a favorite for students who want to exercise while having fun with friends. Meeting every Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Mund College Center Underground, the club welcomes anyone, no matter their fitness level.
“I wanted to start a Zumba club to spread my love for the art of Zumba,” Alycia Qualls, Zumba club president, said. “I grew up doing Zumba and it always helped calm me down when I was stressed.”
Students have enjoyed wearing outfits inspired by a unique theme at each meeting, including camo, decades, neon and Halloween.
“I hope students get a good time out of Zumba club and that it is somewhere they can come to relax and have fun,” Caleb Sikalis, Zumba club vice president of audio and visuals and treasurer, said.
The LVC Zumba club plans to continue having weekly themed dance nights and hopes to host new events like Zumba THON and collaborations with community partners. Everyone is welcome, so students can go to any meeting to join in the fun.
