On Saturday, Oct. 19, LVC’s men’s and women’s swim teams faced Lycoming College while raising money for cancer in their pink out home meet.

The final score for the LVC men’s team was 140, which earned them the victory with Lycoming only scoring 34 points. LVC’s women also had a grand start to the season, earning 121 points to the Lycoming girls’ team, who scored 64 points. This was a big win for the LVC women’s team, as they have not beaten Lycoming’s women since 2021.

LVC had a total of nine MAC (Mid-Atlantic Conference) qualifiers: Owen Fastrich (two qualifying times), Tyler Singer, Jordyn Grossman, Josh Varner, Justin Kopp, Sierra Young, Marina Weidman and Rachel King.

Throughout the meet, the team also raised money for cancer treatment by giving away various pink items for free, such as donuts, mini footballs and shirts. By the end of the meet, the team had raised nearly 100 dollars, exceeding expectations since the money came from donations only.

LVC’s swimming team’s next meet will be on Saturday, Oct. 26, against Bryn Mawr College and Cedar Crest College. This will be a tri-meet for the women’s team and time trials for the men since the opposing teams are all women’s teams. The meet will be held at Bryn Mawr, starting at 5 p.m.
