Jordyn Hartsock is graduating with a degree in neuroscience and psychology.  Hartsock will be attending Shippensburg University for graduate school with the goal to become a school psychologist and work in an alternative school.

During her time at LVC, Hartsock was involved in many activities on campus, including but not limited to Gamma Sigma Sigma national service sorority, the honors program, peer and organizational tutoring and research assistant in three psychology labs.

“Being a member of Gamma Sigma Sigma has given me a plethora of opportunities to serve our community,” Hartsock said.

Throughout her time at LVC, Hartsock has felt supported by her department.

“The psychology department has an amazing program that has prepared me in not only my graduate schooling but also in my professional career,” Hartsock said.  “All of the professors are super supportive and want students to succeed.”

Hartsock feels that LVC has given her plenty of opportunities to succeed.  For her internship, she worked for Yellow Breeches Educational Center during the fall semester of her senior year.  During her time there, she worked with the senior high case manager and school counselor.

“My internship experience helped me solidify my career and graduate school path and has fostered my passion for increased access to mental health services for disadvantaged youth,” Hartsock said.  “Through my experience and future graduate school training, I hope to work at an alternative school and implement more robust mental health services.”

Hartsock is excited for what the future holds and to see where her education takes her.
