Four senior business students represented LVC well with their top placement in a global business competition. Owen Marcase, Raevyn McMillan, Ryan Murphy and Ryan Petrucci made their mark by scoring in the top two-percent of participants in the Business Strategy Simulation Competition during the week of April 8-14.

Competing against more than 5,000 teams from 250 colleges and universities worldwide, the LVC team outperformed top business schools such as California State University and the University of Georgia.

The LVC team’s performance in the competition is a key component of their final business course. Competing in the Business Strategy Game (BSG) is required during the second half of the business capstone course, BUS 485: Strategic Management.

The course instructor, Professor Robert Leonard, praised the team for their performance.

“This is an extraordinary feat for their team,” Leonard said. “We should be proud of their accomplishment and the caliber of students representing LVC.”

The BSG involves managing a virtual athletic footwear company in a simulated global market. Through extensive planning and execution, Marcase, McMillan, Murphy and Petrucci’s company achieved top rankings in brand management and financial performance.
