“Writing: A Life” to host Cynthia Arrieu-King

Visiting author Cynthia Arrieu-King will host a free reading on April 2 at 7 p.m. in the Bishop Library Atrium.

“Writing: A Life,” LVC’s free reading series, will welcome poet Cynthia Arrieu-King as the spring semester’s second visiting author.

Arrieu-King has a variety of creative works published from poetry collections to creative nonfiction and short fiction pieces.

Her more recent works include “Futureless Languages,” published by Radiator Press in 2018, its companion “Continuity,” published by Octopus Books in 2021, and “The Betweens,” a creative nonfiction memoir published by Noemi Press in 2021.

Arrieu-King’s creative works have appeared in “American Poetry Review,” “Crazyhorse,” “the tiny” and “TriQuarterly.”

In addition to her writing career, Arrieu-King is a professor of creative writing at Stockton University.

“Writing: A Life” allows students of all majors and interests to come together to explore the versatility of literature. Additionally, attending students will be able to ask Arrieu-King questions about her work, writing process, publications and more.

The series provides a wealth of insight into the literary world while also encouraging students to engage with authors of various backgrounds and specializations. 

Arrieu-King’s reading will take place on Tuesday, April 2, at 7 p.m. in the Bishop Library Atrium. If students or faculty are unable to attend the reading in person, use the following link to register for the Zoom livestream.
