Men’s ice hockey plays for cause

The Dutchmen men’s ice hockey team played its annual charity game, benefitting first responders.

On Saturday, Dec. 2, the team played against Neumann University at Hersheypark Arena.  The players wore special jerseys for the occasion and there were also first responder shirts available for sale.

During the first intermission, there was also an honor for first responders, as a Pennsylvania state trooper car drove on the ice with sirens.

The Dutchmen fought hard in the game, with a final score of 4-3, Neumann.  Senior Jered Stevenson, and junior Heralds Jirgens, led the team with a goal and assist each.

After the game, there was a post-game skate for attendees to enjoy.  Students laced up skates provided by Hersheypark Arena and skated with the players and friends.

Catch the Dutchmen once more before winter break on Friday, Dec. 8, at 7 p.m. against Chatham University!
