Small town theater

By Lynsey Brinkley ’24, staff writer

There is a small theater in the town of Annville where those of all ages can enjoy entertainment of all kinds.

The Allen Theater was established in 1995 by Skip Hicks. A theater was not the original establishment; the building was initially called the Hippodrome in the 1900s. Under Hick’s ownership, in 2012, the theater was named one of the 12 best local movie theaters in the country.

The Allen Theater partners with LVC’s student planning board to host events such as free movies, discounted desserts, invites to open mic night and more.

One event they are hosting is a free movie night. On Oct. 20 and 21 at 10:45 p.m., the Allen Theater will be showing the “Taylor Swift Eras Tour movie,” and LVC students can watch it for free if they show their college IDs. Food and drinks can be purchased as well.

The Allen Theater is located at 36 E. Main Street Annville, PA 17003. For more information, you can visit the website, www.allentheatre.com. LVC students can sign up on Redbook.
