Fall sports are coming to an end and that means basketball season is kicking off.

LVC basketball has been around since 1904 when the college introduced its first team. This year will be slightly different for the Dutchman as they enter their inaugural season as a member of the MAC Freedom conference.

In the MAC Freedom poll, the Dutchmen are ranked seventh. This is right above FDU-Florham.  The Dutchmen are ranked behind Arcadia, Desales, Stevens, Misericordia, Delaware Valley and King’s University.  The standings of the poll are determined by the eight head coaches.

The Dutchmen finished their 2022-23 season 7-18.  Along with this, they had two seniors last year, with one to return as a grad student. This season, the Dutchmen have a roster of 18, bringing in four new faces from the 2027 first-year class and 10 returning players.

The Dutchmen start their season on Nov. 8 when they travel to Williamsport to play Lycoming College. The home opener is on Nov. 15 where the Dutchmen play Wilkes University at 7:30 p.m. in Sorrentino Gymnasium.
