LVC’s physical therapy department starts clinical rotations.

Starting on September 20, LVC’s physical therapy (PT) department started their clinical rotations in surrounding counties. They were placed in different clinics by the department, with boundaries ranging as far as an hour and a half drive.

This is a 10-week program that the students attend once a week, every Wednesday. The clinicals are a requirement of the PT program and last until November 29. The students attend the clinical for 8 hours a day and get credits for it as a class.

The students are considered student physical therapists and are under supervision of a licensed physical therapist. They do all of the activities a licensed physical therapist does including documentation, initial examinations and manual techniques. This allows the PT students to learn hands-on and get a better understanding of what their future jobs will entail.
