Women’s golf starts season with win at home invitational

The women’s golf team kicked off their spring season strong, continuing the success of their previous fall season.

The team started with a huge win at the Lebanon Valley Invitational. The Lebanon Country Club hosted the Flying Dutchmen and six other teams this past Monday, Mar. 20.

The team came out on top of five other teams with 401 strokes. First-year student Olivia Bartal and junior Emma Dissinger assisted the team to victory, both tying for fourth overall. Bartal beat her personal best, shooting a 93.

The previous champion, University of Scranton placed third overall with 436 strokes.

Olivia Cindrich and Jordan Millam will be playing their final spring season as Flying Dutchmen.

When asked about the success of this years team, Millam excitedly stated, “We have five strong players this season and we are ready to rock and roll.”

The women’s team will travel next to Fleetwood, Pa. to the Golden Oaks Golf Club on Saturday, Apr. 1. This will be a MAC Preview Event that will highlight some of the top talents within the conference for this upcoming season.

The team will continue their schedule throughout April working towards the MAC Championships back at Golden Oaks on Apr. 29.
