The LVC men’s basketball team hosted the Rinso Marquette Basketball Tournament on Nov. 11 and Nov. 12. The team finished 2-0 on the weekend.
On Friday, Nov. 11, the Dutchmen faced off against the Aggies of Delaware Valley. The hard-fought game went into overtime where the Dutchmen would eventually pull ahead and win the game by a sizable 14 points. The final score of the game was 84 to 70. The leading scorers for the Dutchmen were Collin Jones with 20 points and Kegan Hertz with 16. LVC had five people score in double digits.
LVC would then take on Neumann University in the championship game. In another closely contested game, LVC would prevail by a score of 67 to 63. Collin Jones led the scoring for LVC with 16 points. LVC also shot 45 percent from the three-point line, which helped propel it to a victory in the tip-off tournament.
LVC men’s basketball is now 2 and 0 on the year and will be looking to continue their strong start to the season against Susquehanna University on Friday, Nov. 18.
