Football gears up to play Albright Saturday

Although the fall season is coming to an end, the Dutchmen are still bringing lots of energy and determination for their upcoming game against Albright.

This is one of the most awaited games of the season for the Dutchmen and the rest of the student body. Each year, students rally behind the Dutchmen not only to gain another conference win, but also to get an additional day off before Thanksgiving break. With an LVC win against Albright, students will have the entire day off Wednesday to travel home and spend more time with their families.

The past few games have not been easy for the Dutchmen, as they have lost three straight. Despite the losses, the team continues to work hard.

“We are ready to leave it all out there,” Nick Macon, a senior offensive lineman, said. “This may be the last time some of us will be putting pads on.”

Saturday’s game against Albright will also be the team’s senior day in which 25 seniors will be honored for their hard work and time spent being a part of the Dutchmen football team.

“This senior class had a handful of guys that were leaders and contributed to both sides of the ball,” Macon said. “Many of the freshmen look up to the leadership of this senior class.”

Braden Bohannon, sophomore quarterback, will be out of Saturday’s game with a foot injury. Bohannon has been a player to watch this year, as he has led the Dutchmen to several victories at the beginning of the season. Tanner Lewis, a sophomore quarterback, will take over the starting position as the team takes on the Lions.

Come out this Saturday to Arnold field to cheer on the Dutchmen as they take on the Lions for one of their last games of the season. Kickoff is at noon.
