Men’s soccer hosts Messiah for senior day

The men’s soccer team will host Messiah University on Tuesday for an important conference match-up on senior day.

Through a hard-fought season, the team currently sits at a 7-7-2 overall record. It also holds a 2-2-2 conference record after a tough loss on Saturday against Stevenson. This upcoming game is expected to be a challenge for the Dutchmen as they seek to improve their conference record in their pursuit of playoffs.

It will also be a time to celebrate and honor the seniors on the team for the dedication they put into LVC soccer. This year’s seniors include forward/midfielder Lucas Strange, midfielder Zach Creighton, defender/midfielder Alex Weese, wing Zach Reed, forward Matthew Weinstock-Collins and forward Zach Snider.

When they met last fall season, LVC lost to Messiah 1-4 in the regular season and 1-2 in a close overtime game for the MAC Commonwealth tournament finals, so the Dutchmen are seeking revenge. The game will take place Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 3:30 p.m. at Herbert Field.
