After a thrilling 2-1 win over Neumann last Saturday, the LVC men’s soccer team now shifts their focus toward their home match against Elizabethtown college on Wednesday.

LVC looks to be more than ready, however. Their showing against Neumann showcased their ability to close out close matches. Their next opponents could certainly make this another close one.

Elizabethtown currently has a record of 2-4-2, but they should not be underestimated. Fifth-year student Ed Rainey, Junior Jake Groh, and Senior Ryan Hepler have all had strong starts this year and could pose a significant threat to the LVC defense.

While the Elizabethtown offense has been good, a noticeably strong part of the LVC team this year has been their efficient offensive attack. Sophomore Aaron Weitzel currently leads the team in goals with four, and you can expect him, along with the rest of the LVC forwards and midfielders, to build on their strong start to the year against Elizabethtown.

LVC currently stands with a record of 5-4, which puts them in the middle of the standings. Awin against Elizabethtown would certainly help move them up the rankings.

Be sure to come out and support the team on Wednesday, September 24th at 4 P.M. The match will be held at our very own Herbert Field.
