When the world shut down in 2020, so did LVC Live. LVC Live, an annual admissions event, never occurred in 2020 due to everyone being sent home the weekend of the event.
LVC Live 2021 was not as extravagant as previous years due to all the precautions set in place by the College and by the state. There were two information sessions for accepted students and families, along with a tour if they wanted to see campus again.
In 2020 and 2021, accepted students who wanted to enroll at LVC Live were unable to ring the gong, but this year students who enrolled were able to celebrate with everyone.
LVC Live was back in full swing with tables for clubs, organizations, student affairs and majors. Accepted students were also able to tour both Vickroy and Funkhouser to get a taste of what their rooms will be like next year.
This day is one of the biggest for the admissions office as well as the sports teams, academic departments and student-run organizations. Valley Ambassadors and many other students helped to make this event successful.
Alyssa Peiffer, a junior Valley Ambassador, talked about this year’s LVC Live.
“LVC Live was a big event for me as a senior in high school. It was a big event for me to attend for both athletics and academics,” Peiffer said. “It is unfortunate that we haven’t been able to have it in three years.”
Peiffer attended in 2019, the last LVC Live was before the pandemic.
“I was very happy to work the event this year and to see all the enrolled and accepted students coming together. It was heartwarming to see students meeting each other and other professors,” Peiffer said.
LVC Live 2.0 will be held on April 9, and more accepted and enrolled students will be joining us again on campus. The College is excited to welcome the class of 2026!
