LVC reflects on the two-year anniversary of COVID-19

By Annie Steinfelt ‘24, staff writer

The LVC community is recognizing and reflecting on the impact of the pandemic from March 14 to March 18 as it reaches its second anniversary.

A service of remembrance, recognition and reflection was held in the Miller Chapel at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, during which there was a candle lighting for medical personnel and essential workers, a memorial for those who lost their lives due to COVID and performances by the concert and chamber choirs.

On Thursday, President James MacLaren will be smashing a coronavirus piñata on the Social Quad at noon to represent the communal frustration felt during the pandemic and students are welcome to watch and cheer him on.

Students are also invited to share their remembrances, thoughts, poems, losses or things learned during the pandemic on a Wall of Reflection in the Miller Chapel lobby throughout the week.
