New year, new faces

By Casey Shillabeer ’22, staff writer

It’s a new year and for some departments at LVC, the new year means new faces; two new career coaches have started in the Breen Center for Graduate Success.

Walter Choplick and Ellen Raum have already started to work in the Breen Center on campus. As career coaches, they will meet with students one on one and lead class presentations and workshops in constellation courses and other group collaborations across campus.

Walter, who goes by Wally, is a graduate of LVC with a bachelor’s in music education and a master’s in music from Messiah University. Prior to returning to LVC, Wally was a music teacher for the Gettysburg Area School District.

Ellen is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She has a bachelor’s degree in international and Asian studies, and then went on to earn a M.S. in higher education from Purdue University. Prior to LVC, she was a college counselor in China and worked in admissions at Alvernia University.

There is a meet and greet the career coaches Thursday, Feb. 10, from 11 to 12:30 p.m. in the Breen Center.

Welcome Wally and Ellen to LVC and the Breen Center for Graduate Success!
