The march to Kreiderheim

As tradition goes, here at LVC, a win against Albright’s football team leads to the march to Kreiderheim. Students greet the President and request that there are no classes on the day before Thanksgiving.

After an exciting game, which was also the 100th matchup against Albright, LVC’s football team proved victorious with a 25-2 score.

The tradition continues to live on as the student body met up at the stadium on Nov. 14 to march together see President James MacLaren at his home.

“I love this tradition and how it has held up over the years,” Julia Abendschoen, a junior biochemistry & molecular biology major, said. “It is always so fun marching up to the President’s house with the rest of the student body and my friends, hoping he gives us the day off.”

The march was successful, as President MacLaren agreed to cancel classes on Wednesday, Nov. 23.

“I am very excited to be able to go home a day early and to not have class that day,” Abendschoen said, “It will be nice to relax and take a break from all of the schoolwork in these last couple weeks of the semester.”

Albright has always been LVC’s biggest rival when it comes to football, and it is exciting for everyone on campus when LVC is able to beat them.

The rivalry and tradition will continue again next football season and for many years to come.

Next football season will be the 101st meeting of the two teams, and hopefully, it will have similar results to this year’s outcome: a winning game and no classes on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
