President Thayne announced today via email that the pedestrian bridge over the train tracks is now open for students to cross via stairs only.
A temporary certificate of occupancy for the pedestrian bridge has been approved by Annville Township, Norfolk Southern and MetEd, thus clearing the way for LVC to open the bridge to foot traffic using the stairs only. LVC applied for the temporary permit so that students and members of the campus community could begin using the stairs and walkways.
Most of the lighting system has been installed and a significant portion of the landscaping and walkways is complete; however, the steel for the accessibility ramps and the remainder of the lighting system for the bridge await installation sometime before the beginning of the spring semester.
A formal dedication will take place in April.
