By Michael Burt ’22, staff writer

Best-selling author Lindsey Pollak visited LVC on Nov. 12 to give a presentation of her best-selling book, “Getting From College to Career: Your Essential Guide to Succeeding in the Real World.”

The presentation, which is a part of the College’s Campus Speaker Series, took place in the Frederic K. Miller Chapel. Pollak’s keynote focused on many of the themes in her book, such as how students can successfully integrate themselves into professional jobs through networking and the importance of persistence.

“I wrote my book for the next generation of college students,” Pollak said. “You have infinite chances to make an impression.”

Pollak focused heavily on having a consistent brand throughout all facets of your professional career. From your Linkedin page to your resume to your work ethic, a consistent brand is the key to your success.

“Think of your brand as a North Star,” Pollak said. “Take actions to your goals and you can get any job you’d like.”

In addition to writing Getting From College to Career, Pollak has also written Becoming the Boss and her newly released book, The Remix: How to Lead and Succeed in the Multigenerational Workplace.
