Halloween is quickly approaching, and it is important that students remember a few safety tips.

This year Halloween falls on Thursday, Annville Township’s Trick or Treat hours are from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Here are ten tips to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable Halloween.

1. Wear a costume that does not restrict your movement in case you need to make a quick move.

2. Obey laws, rules and regulations. Be respectful of other people’s rights.

3. Use the buddy system. Stay in groups, there is always safety in numbers.

4. Be kind but cautious. Everyone deserves to have a fun and safe evening, especially the young trick-or-treaters.

5. Keep your phone on at all times just in case an emergency arises. Also, keep your phone charged.

6. Have public safety’s phone number in your contacts (717)-867-6111 or 6111 for on-campus phones).

7. If you see something suspicious, say something.

8. Do not drink and drive.

9. Watch what you are drinking and do not accept a drink from a stranger.

10. Define your limits, you do not have to drink on Halloween to have a good time!
