Homecoming victory for football

The Dutchmen were victorious on Homecoming Saturday with a thrilling 31-30 win over FDU-Florham.

With the victory, the Dutchmen improved their record to 2-3 overall with a conference record of 2-1. The team had an eventful first half as Hunter Wilson ran for a 73-yard touchdown to start the scoring for LVC.

In the second quarter, Kody Kegarise increased the lead with a one-yard run while Nick Bentz added a season-long field goal from 49 yards to make the score 17-0.
Heading into the half, LVC was in control with a 24-7 lead. FDU battled back with multiple scores to close the gap for the Devils, but LVC held on for the win with a defensive stop on a two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter.

Many students, alumni and parents were in attendance to cheer on the team while celebrating LVC’s unity.
