Treats-4-Troops

The sisters of Alpha Sigma Tau held Treats-4-Troops, an annual event to pack and send food to overseas members of the armed forces, on Saturday.

AST sent a total of 1,590 bags to men and women who serve in the Marines, Army and Air Force in the U.S. and around the world.

“We collect donations for a couple weeks, and we bag them up and we send them overseas for troops who are currently serving our country,” Haley Groesbeck, president of AST, said.

This year marked the 13th consecutive year for the Treats-4-Troops event. In 2017, the sisters of AST sent more than 1,700 bags around the world, which set the standard for this year and years to come.

“We’re still providing these treats for people who are serving our country and risking their lives for us, so either way, we’re happy with however many we send,” Groesbeck said.
