The student-led LVC dance team was founded in 2009; each year, more and more students are interested in joining the team.

JoAnne Rubelmann, a senior secondary education major and co-president of the dance team, has been a part of the team since her freshman year and has seen the growth and improvement throughout the years.

“We are super excited to work with the largest team that has come to the College,” Rubelmann said. “The team has been growing every year and this year we have 24 members.”

The dance team performs at the men’s basketball games, the women’s basketball pink game, Relay For Life, mini-THON, Pep Rally and at the annual spring showcase. The self-choreographed team has a variety of dance routines that influenced by all styles from hip-hop, to jazz, pointe, contemporary and even tap.

This year the team will hold another showcase in December; that showcase will be in addition to the annual showcase in the spring.

“We are super excited to unveil our first ever Christmas show,” Rubelmann said. “The show will feature some of your favorite holiday tunes and will get you ready for the season.”

The team has received awards over the years for different contributions it has made to the College.

“We want to do what we can to help other groups and organizations to accomplish their goals,” Rubelmann said. “Dance has a wide range of applications and we wish to give back via our time, energy and work ethic.”

In 2016, the team was awarded the Lebanon Valley College Student Organization of the Year, and in 2017, the team was awarded the Program of the Year for its Dancing with the LVC Stars event. This year’s Dancing with the LVC Stars event is February 23.
