Choir tour 2017: from hardship to harmony

By: Rebekka Carpenter ’18, Staff Writer

The 81st annual Lebanon Valley College Concert Choir tour just made its way across Pennsylvania and New York.

The title of the choir’s program was “From Hardship to Harmony”. It looked at the way music can lift one beyond his or her tragedy from the way it is composed, performed and experienced.

The 52-voice choir lead by Dr. Matthew Erpelding, director of choral activities and assistant professor of music education, began with a pre-tour concert on Sunday, March 26, by traveling to St. Theresa Catholic Church in New Cumberland, Pa.

The tour then left on Thursday, March 30, and traveled to the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, Pa. On Saturday, April 1, the group sang at the Church of Saint Mary in Hudson, New York.

Finally, the choir returned for their homecoming concert held on campus in the Frederick K. Miller Chapel on Sunday, April 2. As in past years, the students attracted a large audience.
