Freshmen and current Lebanon Valley students explored what activities are available for them this school year.
LVCâs Student Activities Office held its annual student activities fair Wednesday, Sept. 7, and the social quad was packed with dozens of booths and an outdoor picnic giving students an opportunity to socialize and learn about student life on campus.
Despite the campusâs small size, LVC offers more than 70 clubs, so whether interested in science, volunteer work, the outdoors or an active Greek life, a club for almost every student exists.
Paige Diller ’16, President of Student Government, gave insight into the importance of being involved in organizations like hers.
âIt allows student to interact and be a liaison between students and the larger facilities,â Diller said. âSo you have a say as the college grows as to what we like and what we donât.â
If spending time outside sparked oneâs interest, then the Outdoors Club is the perfect fit. Adam Brock â17, club president of the Outdoors Club, is hoping to continue to grow the club this year and one of the incentives is not having dues to join along with several trips this semester.
âThe camping trip is currently waitlisted, but if enough people waitlist we will get another cabin, so we are encouraging people to still sign up,â Brock said.
LVC also has an active Greek life, with eight different sororities and fraternities. One of the service and social sororities on campus is Phi Sigma Sigma. They will be hosting several socials this semester.
âWe are looking for new girls who are interested in Greek life,â Caitlin Dryden â18, club president of Phi Sigma Sigma said. âWe are a lot of fun.â
The activities fair proved that despite the collegeâs small size in a rural town, plenty of clubs and activities to take part in give a student the complete college experience.
