Over the weekend, LVC’s dance team had its spring showcase. There are 27 dancers from various programs across campus.
“We do a wide variety of styles which include hip hop, jazz, contemporary, modern, salsa, heels and more,” Victoria Moreno, a sophomore speech-language pathology major, said.
The dance team provides dancers with an outlet to continue dancing or learn. Student dancers can also choreograph dances for the team to perform.
“During our fall showcase, any of the dance team officers have the opportunity to choreograph,” Moreno said. “In the spring semester, anyone on the dance team who is a sophomore or older can choreograph.”
There is also a company team which is a select group of dance team members that perform at special events throughout the year. This year they have performed at both a Hershey Bears and a Reading Royals ice hockey game, the Dutchmen dance-off, and they will also be performing at Dutchmen Day.
