LVC women’s basketball defeated Misericordia on the road 67-42 in a crucial conference matchup on Wednesday night.

The Lady Dutchmen were led by senior Kate Fitzpatrick, who tallied 16 points and 3 assists. Along with this, Christina Fernandez, Riley Hevelow and Brielle Reidinger all scored double-digit points.

The Dutchmen proved resilient in the first half as Misericordia kept the score within ten points at halftime. However, a second-half offensive explosion is what fueled the LVC victory. In the second half, LVC outscored Misericordia 23-10 in the third quarter and 15-9 in the fourth quarter.

The LVC women’s basketball team is now sitting at a 12-8 record with a 6-3 record in conference play. The team is third in the MAC Freedom standings behind Arcadia and Desales.

The Lady Dutchmen will travel to Delaware Valley on Saturday, Jan. 13, in the first of 5 straight crucial conference matchups over the next two weeks.
