LVC’s ultimate frisbee club, the Jammin’ Jackalopes, traveled to its second tournament of the semester.
On Saturday, Oct. 28, the Jammin’ Jackalopes traveled to Gettysburg for its second tournament of the fall semester. The team was comprised of 13 students, 12 experienced players and one new player who had never attended a tournament before.
The tournament was hosted by Gettysburg College’s ultimate frisbee club, Pan Fried Funk. It consisted of six teams, including Dickinson College, Gettysburg College, Lebanon Valley College, Mount St. Mary’s University, Susquehanna University and York College. Each team was guaranteed two pool games, followed by a championship bracket.
The Jammin’ Jackalopes placed third in the tournament overall and had a record of two wins and one loss for the day. The scores of the pool games were 15-2 against Mount St. Mary’s University and 14-10 against Dickinson College. The team lost 10-8 against Dickinson College in the semi-finals match after suffering three major player injuries throughout the day.
The final tournament for the Jammin’ Jackalopes for the fall semester is on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023 at Kutztown University. The ultimate frisbee club also holds practices every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:45 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the fields next to the tennis courts and every Sunday from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the Arnold Field.
