The beginning of October marks a crucial point for many fall sports teams.
Many teams are in the heart of conference play, so let’s look at how our Dutchmen have been faring before these teams gear up to make runs for conference championships.
The women’s soccer team stands at 2-3-2 with a few nonconference contests before entering the meat of conference play with a Homecoming showdown against Delaware Valley on Saturday, Oct. 14.
Field hockey sports a record of 6-4 as it finishes with nonconference play. Conference play will open with a Saturday showdown on Oct. 1, against DeSales University.
Men’s soccer is riding a six-game winning streak, falling only to Franklin & Marshall for a record of 8-1 and 1-0 in the conference after a 5-2 win against Misericordia on Saturday, Sept. 30.
Men’s tennis concluded the season with a 4-1 record, while women’s tennis has a 4-0 record before one last competition at the Goucher Invitational, which will occur on Oct. 8.
Football is 3-1 and 3-0 in conference play entering the bye week. The back half of the schedule will begin with a Saturday, Oct. 2, road trip to face Widener.
Volleyball holds a record of 10-5 with 12 games left before postseason play. Six freedom conference games remain as the team sits at a 2-0 conference record.
Women’s and men’s swimming begin the season on Saturday, Oct. 21, against Lycoming.
