Guide to International Food Week

Global Education Club is hosting International Food Week. Each day Metz will feature foods from around the world.

Here is the schedule: Monday – lunch from the Caribbean and the Americas, Tuesday – dinner from Southern Asia, Wednesday – dinner from Europe, Thursday – dinner from Eastern Asia, Friday – dinner from Africa and the Middle East.

Every day this week will also feature an event celebrating the world’s diverse cultures.

The festivities will kick off with the International Fashion Show, which will highlight traditional ethnic clothing and characteristic wear from countries across the globe. This event will take place in Zimmerman Recital Hall at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 4.

Then on Tuesday, April 5, Dr. Shayani Bhattacharya, assistant professor of English, will introduce the film “The Great Indian Kitchen” which will give further insight into Indian food and culture. This event will be held in the Fellowship Lounge located in the basement of Miller Chapel.

The following day, students can come join the Latin Hispanic Alliance to learn salsa dancing while supporting a great cause as part of the Volunteers in Medicine Dance Fundraiser. This event will be held on Wednesday, April 6, on the Mund Patio or in the Underground depending on weather conditions.

On Thursday, April 7, at 8 p.m. is Kahoot Trivia Night. Students will get to test their knowledge about other countries and cultures.

International Food Week will come to a close with the “Let’s Get Loud” Karaoke Fundraiser on Friday, April 8, at 7 p.m. Students can come hear faculty and staff perform as they raise money for Tariro House of Hope in Zimbabwe.
