Alpha Sigma Tau is holding a canned good drive for The Caring Cupboard.

The Caring Cupboard is a food bank located in Palmyra, PA and actively serving an average of 140 families per week. The Caring Cupboard is open five different times during the week, and each family can visit the food bank once per week.

The goal is that the families are able to get enough food for three to four days.

The Caring Cupboard offers all kinds of fresh food items as well as donated products and non-perishables for the families. The most sought-after items are sugar, toothbrushes, mayonnaise, Rotel tomatoes, canned corn, red beets and diapers.

The sorority is happy to be helping and collecting donations for a good cause.

“The AST members are so excited to go trick or treating for canned goods to donate. We hope you join us,” Sydney Zimmerman, a junior exercise science major and a member of AST, said.

If someone is able to and decides to help, they will receive 30 minutes of community service added to their service record.

The canned good drive will be held from Oct. 25-29. Donations can be placed in bins located in the Frederic K. Miller Chapel, Vernon and Doris Bishop Library and Allan W. Mund College Center.
