LVC is participating in the Central Pennsylvania Employment Consortium (CPEC) Job Fair, which is hosted annually every March.
For years, LVC has served as a member of CPEC. Typically, the fair is held at a hotel banquet hall in Camp Hill, Pa. This year the fair will take place virtually through Messiah University’s Handshake account due to the impact of COVID-19.
Events like the CPEC Job Fair are great for students who are looking for jobs or internships because many of the companies who attend host internships and full-time employment. The Breen Center for Graduate Success is constantly looking to provide students opportunities like this.
“The Breen Center strongly recommends that students attend job fairs – it is a great way to build your network and learn about job openings,” Brynn Mason, Director of the Breen Center for Graduate Success, said. “We’ve had students attend job fairs and secure interviews and even job offers as a result of attending and speaking with the company representatives.”
Professional attire, even in a virtual setting, is greatly appreciated. Additionally, resumes are required and should be uploaded to Handshake prior to the event.
This event is among the many job fairs in which LVC participates every year. In the fall, LVC hosts the Accounting, Actuarial Science and Analytical Finance Job Fair and the Health Professions Job Fair. LVC is also a part of two consortiums that host job fairs in the spring – the CPEC Job Fair and the Teacher Recruitment Day Consortium Fair.
“As a part of the Breen Center’s future goals/plans, we would like to host a major-wide job fair as well as a graduate school fair on campus,” Mason said. “We are excited to be able to host job fairs on our campus in the future.”
For anyone interested in attending, register on Handshake. Admission is free for all attendees. The fair will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3.
