It’s an opportunity for students to help light up someone’s life and to help Lebanon Valley College fight the good fight; this year’s Relay For Life is Friday, March 23.
The annual event held at the Arnold Sports Center honors those who are affected by cancer. There’s a survivor/caregiver walk and luminaria ceremony. Both provide participants the opportunity to grieve, but also, to inspire those who are battling cancer.
In addition, LVC’s Relay For Life will feature a friendly competition among the different faculty and staff departments. The department that raises the most money by the opening ceremony will be rewarded with a Subway luncheon.
“Being able to help plan the event and fight back against cancer at LVC’s Relay For Life has been a main source of the motivation to study and take the steps that I am taking to one day have a career in medicine,” Ashley Shultz, a junior biology major, said.
The event will feature games, prizes, various speakers, scavenger hunts, a hypnotist and a food booth.
