From the courts to Carnegie

Taking LVC’s motto, “Further, More,” beyond her time as a student-athlete, Sarah Kramer ’25 continues to grow her career at LVC after being promoted to assistant director of financial aid.

During her four years at LVC, Kramer was heavily involved. She was the captain of the women's tennis team, a Valley Ambassador, a first-year mentor, a member of SAAC, FBLA and the college choir.  Additionally, she received awards such as the Athletic Service Award (2025), All-MAC First Team (2023) and MAC All-Sportsmanship Team (2022).

As a student, Kramer worked in the financial aid office. After graduation, she took a full-time position as a counselor in the office, placing her on the other side of the college experience that she once knew as a student-athlete. After a year as a full-time employee, she was promoted to assistant director.

“Being promoted to assistant director is truly an honor,” Kramer said. “I started as a student worker in the office when I was a first-year student, so progressing to this new position is an incredible opportunity.”

Kramer said her promotion is not solely a reflection of her individual career path, but also of the people who have supported her throughout her time at LVC.

“However, this promotion is as much about the support of my incredible team as it is about my own path,” Kramer said.

During her time as a student worker, she also balanced her academics and athletics, allowing her to develop skills that she continues to use in her professional career.

“Being a student-athlete helped me figure out how to effectively manage my time and work well in a team setting,” Kramer said.

Being part of a team puts her in an environment with people from different backgrounds and personalities. This made her transition to the workforce easier and taught her how to find common ground while working towards a shared goal.

“Playing team sports helped me learn how to work with people that I might not naturally click with by finding common ground in working toward the same goal,” Kramer said.

Those experiences now carry into her work in financial aid, where she is able to support students in the same community that supported her.

For Kramer, moving forward has not meant leaving LVC behind. Instead, it has meant continuing to grow within the community that helped shape her.
